Capturing Light

On one of those cloudy yet not completely unbearable days we had last week, I noticed the setting sun had gone down below the clouds and this tree was just glowing in the sunlight. I liked the contrast with the gray sky but by the time I had fetched the camera and a tripod to steady it, the effect had lessened. This is just a hint of that golden glow. [Remember, I'm using a little snap-n-shoot. I don't have a grownup digital camera. The tripod is for the steadiness I don't have in my hands right now.]

As the sun set further, I turned west. Our neighbor's mulberry tree is rebelling against the recent branch trimming it was just given.

Of course, you can't have a camera out and get away without taking pictures of the little one. No, really, you can't because she'll ask you, "What about my picture? Take a picture of me!"
